May 1st
The first of May is a bank holiday in France which is called "fête du Travail" i.e Labour Day.
On that very day, everybody is allowed to sell lillies of the valley. This delicate Spring flower is a lucky charm that we love giving to our friends and family.
On May 1st there are also many demonstrations. This year, Trade unions chose to demonstrate throughout the country because of the threat on pensions.
Anyway, have a nice Labour Day!
